Being Elmo A Puppeteers Journey

Most parents are very much aware of Elmo, the child-like fuzzy red Muppet who has become a favourite among Sesame Street’s youthful audience. Far fewer people know the name Kevin Clash, the puppeteer who breathes the life and soul into Elmo. Fascinated by the Muppets from the first time he saw them onscreen, Clash found a way to express himself when he discovered puppetry, and showed a remarkable talent for the art. In BEING ELMO we discover the man behind the Muppet, and find that he is as lovable, wise and infinitely positive as his famous character.

A hit at the Sundance Film Festival – where it won the Special Jury Prize – BEING ELMO showcases the story behind an oft-forgotten and largely invisible artistry.
